About

Welcome to Sunshine Fox Reviews!

I’ve been a wee bit absent due to some home renovations I’m doing, but I’ll be back to writing about films weekly very soon. In the meantime, please check out my Letterbox’d account for short reviews about all the films I’ve seen in 2022 thus far.

The name of my new blog is a conglomeration of Little Miss Sunshine and Fantastic Mr. Fox, two films that I return to time and time again. Not only do both these fine gems succeed at being meaningful character studies, they show that all of us are flawed, all of us have felt alone, all of us are just “different.” Thematically, these are the films I most enjoy and that speak to my own insecurities.

The power of film is intense and insanely beautiful – it can transport, change and devastate your very understanding of life itself. And THAT is worth discussing and writing about.

I am by no means a professional movie reviewer but hope you enjoy my thoughts nevertheless.

Run. Read. Bike. Write. Play. Learn. Love. I am passionate and curious about many things in this life – literature, film, poetry, and human nature to name a few. An introvert at heart but a wannabe extrovert who wants to learn all that there is to know and travel as widely as possible. My kids are my best teachers, Mark Twain is my hero and about the best person from whom we can learn the importance of equality, David Lynch and Wes Anderson are my creative gurus, Pablo Neruda’s words sing to my heart, and my bikes give me wings.
